The Future of design - is sustainability the end of design?

Sustainable design is a broader, system based, long-term vision of eco-design. Sustainable design is not only the design of sustainable products, but is also the study of needs and ethics, of current and future technologies, of sociologies, consumer behaviour, and environmental impacts and improvements. It is an interdisciplinary approach that focuses on 'products, services and systems that meet human needs.' Madge, 1997, p53
